Child
Contact Centre
A Contact Centre is held in the former caretaker’s flat
at Rose Hill Church every Saturday. Parents come by appointment
to meet with children who no longer reside with them. This can
be helpful where it may be difficult for a meeting to be arranged
without a neutral venue. The United Reformed Church plays a large
part in the running of the centre, but helpers come from several
churches in the town to make this an ecumenical venture.
The Adelphic
Club is an inter-denominational meeting of men of the
local churches. It meets on the first Tuesday of the month from
October to April at 7.00pm, starting with meal. Speakers cover
a wide range of subjects and a summer outing is usually arranged.
The club supports a charity or local need during the year.
